OBJECT: | Cross linking polymerization is obtained by continuous mixing of a molten polymer. | PROBLEM: | Mixture becomes viscous “like mayonnaise” making batch mixing to end point difficult. | RESULTS: | Molten polymer at 3-4 gpm is continuously dispersed at high shear into 6-7 gpm of aqueous polymer. | AB MIXER: | Model 3 x 1.5 Dicon, 5 HP, 3600 RPM, 1/8” discharge grid. | BENEFIT: | Complete mixing is accomplished before difficult viscosity like mayonnaise occurs – chemical reaction is complete. |
