Description 

OBJECT:

Draw in, wet out and disperse Kelzan gum (0.5%), Titanium Dioxide (39%), surfactants and defoamers into water.  Mix is color concentrate for bar soaps.

PROBLEM:

 Kelzan powders "ball up".  Mixing time for 200 gallon batch was approximately 1 hour, 40 mins.  Lots of agglomerates in mix.

RESULT:

 Gum drawn in using down-mode.  Titanium Dioxide added using up-mode.  Mixing completed in 40 minutes.  No agglomerates in mix.

AB MIXER:

Two Model C-2 Sp. L., 60", 7.5 HP in 500 gallon dished bottom tanks.
