Description
OBJECT:
Disperse four 20 kg. boxes of powdered polyacrylic resin powder (Carbomer, Carbopol) into water for 2.0% by weight gel.
PROBLEM:
Even with high shear mixer, mix time is two hours – with propeller mixers, mix time is 8 hours.
RESULTS:
Powder completely dispersed in 15 minutes.
