MATERIAL: |
Hydrated Alumina gel. Clay slurry consists of premixed clay and dispersants in water. |
PROBLEM: |
Incorporate 3/4" globules of hydrated Alumina gel into clay slurry. Produce smooth dispersion. |
RESULT: |
Pumped 120,000 cps. shear thinning gel at 2 gpm. Alumina gels dispersed in clay slurry with 2-3 passes. Dicon pumps finished mix at 15 gpm. |
AB MIXER: |
Model 6 x 3 Dicon, toothed impeller/liner, 10 HP, 1800 RPM, 1/8" grid. Recirculating to tank. |
BENEFITS |
Thick gel dispersed in clay slurry. With pumps feeding gel and clay slurry to Dicon, a smooth slurry can be made continuously. Costly large mixing tanks do not have to be purchased. |
