PROBLEM: | Battery manufacturers use paste mixers such as those manufactured by Beardsley & Piper. Expander ingredient (usually Lamp Black, Barium Sulfate & Flock) were directly added to paste. Being very light, they were sucked out through exhaust and extremely messy to handle. "Lost" material also affected formulation. |
RESULT: | Retain some of the initial paste liquid. Use AB mixer in down-mode to immediately wet out Lamp Black, etc., and achieve excellent dispersion. Also, eliminate the mess and provide exact formulation. Add the slurry above to the original paste for faster and even dispersion into the paste. |
