WATERPROOF COATINGS

MATERIAL:	Emulsified resin in water with pigment waterproof coating.
PROBLEM:	Reactants are immiscible, available surface area contact is minimized. Batch mixing is limiting production.
RESULTS:	Intense high shear mixing under cavitational conditions shears oil phase into tiny droplets ranging 1 to 2 microns – pigments dispersed below 10 microns stable emulsions/dispersion prepared.
AB MIXER:	Model 1020.05 Cavitron with 30 HP motor.
BENEFITS	Large batch reactors required 1.5 hours mixing time, then additional time to discharge, clean and re-charge. Model 1020.05 Cavitron operates at 25 gallons per/min. continuously. Production capacity is more than tripled since process operates 24/7. Major capital cost savings versus plant expansion with multiple batch mixers.
